The school has a cafeteria that is equipped to serve nutritious meals at a reasonable cost. Remember to clean your area, and return your tray. Please put trash in trashcans too! Misbehavior in the cafeteria may result in you having lunch with your parents on a temporary or permanent basis. Don't let bad behavior leave a bad taste in your mouth.
The Lowell cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch every day. Breakfast is available for $2.00 per meal, and lunch is available for $3.00. Reduced breakfast costs $.30 and reduced lunch costs $.40. Meals are to be paid for on a daily basis. Meals may also be prepaid on a regular schedule to ensure that the student will have lunch money. No written reminders will be issued from the cafeteria. Money will be deducted from the student's account only when the student eats a meal. Unused money will be carried over until the next school year. No refunds will be issued except when the student withdraws and a written request is submitted. The parent/guardian is solely responsible for making sure their child has lunch money. Returned checks will be subject to a $15.00 service charge.
Applications for free and reduced meals are due within the first 2 weeks of school. Anyone who has not submitted an application by August 13, 2015 will pay full price for meals. Students who were free or reduced last year will remain on that status while new applications are being processed. New students are required to pay for meals until the application is processed.
Any student who owes money will be provided with a sandwich, fruit and milk for breakfast or lunch and will be charged for that meal. The sandwich meal will be provided in the absence of payment for two meals. After two meals without payment, the students will no longer be served. The student will be sent to the office to call home.
